What is RF Microneedling?
Aesthetic podiatrist Dr. Suzanne Levine uses a special approach that produces beautiful results for our patients in New York, NY with a treatment known as radiofrequency (RF) microneedling. This treatment has been around for a number of years and is popular in the cosmetic industry for its ability to tighten the skin. It utilizes thermal energy in order to promote the production of collagen deep within the skin to create a firmer, smoother surface. How is RF Microneedling Performed?
Microneedling with Virtue RF uses an instrument (with little needles at the end) that is rolled carefully against the skin to puncture and create micro-injuries that “interrupt” the cells and produce collagen. Some also refer to this as collagen induction therapy. New skin grows as the skin heals, leaving the top layer looking and feeling brighter, smoother, and rejuvenated. Although this process is usually performed by itself, combining this innovative technique with radiofrequency microneedling technology has allowed us to optimize the results for our New York, NY patients.
The method is quite easy. The handheld device, that emits radiofrequency heat, works by providing brief bursts of RF energy through an array of 25 sterilized, gold-plated microneedles. The power is transmitted via the needles, which simultaneously punctures your skin and returns the electrodes into the skin. The RF energy warms at levels that offer cumulative and ongoing results.
What REsults Can I Expect from RF Microneedling?
Your microneedling procedure will take place in the Millennium Podiatry office employing a numbing cream to help reduce discomfort. During your appointment, the handheld device will roll over the desired area, repeating the technique until the desired outcome has been reached. You should anticipate tiny pinpoint scabs to appear 24 – 72 hours afterward, which will naturally disappear when the inherent skin has healed. Results become noticeable as skin heals over a month following a microneedling with RF treatment. Optimal results generally need 3 – 4 treatments one month apart.
