What are orthotics?
Orthotics in NYC and Florida are customized shoes or heel inserts that can help alleviate foot pain when standing and/or walking. At Millennium Podiatry and Institute Beaute, LLC, our team of experienced physicians offers orthotics for patients suffering from foot pain that could be the result of an underlying condition. In some cases, orthotics can also help reduce the need for surgery in patients suffering from flat feet, knee problems, hip problems, or back issues, i.e. scoliosis. Our orthotics are manufactured from the highest quality materials available today, and our 30-point quality assurance program allows us to engineer your custom orthotic devices according to the highest quality standards in the industry. If you are in need of treatment for foot pain, contact our New York, NY or Palm Beach, FL office to schedule your initial consultation.
Who needs custom orthotics?
Orthotics are used for the following reasons:
- Control, guide, limit, and/or immobilize an extremity, joint, or area of the body
- To restrict or assist movement in a given direction
- To reduce weight-bearing forces
- To aid rehabilitation from fractures after the removal of a cast
- To otherwise correct the shape and/or function of the body, to provide easier movement capability, or reduce pain
Patients can also benefit from these devices to treat spina bifida and/or cerebral palsy or if they have experienced a spinal cord injury or stroke. They can also be used for prevention purposes or to optimize sports performance.

Orthotics FAQ
How are orthotics different from inserts?
While inserts can be bought in the store without a prescription, orthotics are made custom for your specific feet concerns. Orthotics can be effective in helping treat foot pain caused by several different factors. These can include diabetes, plantar fasciitis, and arthritis.
How do I know which type of orthotics are right for me?
When you visit Millennium Podiatry, our skilled experts will conduct a thorough evaluation of your feet. This may include 3D imaging to evaluate which type of orthotics may be ideal for you. The two main types of orthotics are functional and accommodative, and they are made from two separate materials.
Will I need to attend follow-up appointments for orthotics?
Once you receive your custom orthotics, you may need to attend follow-up appointments in order to have the health of your feet monitored. At this time, any necessary adjustments can be made to your treatment plan. As always, you can contact our NYC facility if you have any questions or concerns following treatment.
